JBNPL Season 2025

Berwick City Soccer Club is proud to be part of the Junior Boys National Premier League (JBNPL) in Victoria, an advanced youth soccer program overseen by Football Victoria (FV) and Football Australia (FA).

Program Overview

The JBNPL program is for aspiring young footballers (from Under 14s to Under 17s) who seek high-level training and competition.

Participants in this program engage in a more extensive season, encompassing approximately 33 league games. They benefit from increased training sessions led by qualified coaches and enjoy elevated facility and game day management standards, all geared towards optimising player development.

In the Victorian JBNPL, selective clubs compete, divided into four regions: north, south, east, and west. During the pre-qualification phase, Berwick City SC competes in the Southern region competition.

JBNPL caters to players with aspirations in football development, offering a platform for those seeking more advanced and intensive programs compared to community-level options. Consequently, the expectations placed on the players are notably higher. They must not only exhibit elevated technical skills but also commit to a more extensive season and increased training sessions compared to community-level participation.

All clubs are mandated to partake in a 40-week season, involving matches games and weekly training sessions. Coaches are required to hold FA coaching qualifications, and facilities must meet specified standards. The season demands players' availability for training and matches during most extended weekends and school holidays.

Teams

Berwick City Soccer Club is represented by the following teams in the JBNPL Program.
The program is overseen by our Technical Director Aaron Healey who holds an FA Pro Diploma of Coaching.

Trials

Trials typically take place in October, with specific dates subject to Football Victoria's guidelines, and may vary. These trials span a minimum three-week period, encompassing multiple stages that aspiring players are expected to participate in until the teams are ultimately determined.

Once the trials conclude, players receive notifications regarding the outcomes of their assessments. Successful candidates are subsequently provided with acceptance letters.

Upon the conclusion of each season, Berwick City will release Expression of Interest (EOI) for the upcoming season. These announcements are shared through our official social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram, in addition to being featured on our website.

To participate in the trials, all interested players must complete the online registration process.
Our club places emphasis on retaining Berwick City players, and thus, team spots can be limited.

Due to player development and retention, we are only looking for a limited number of positions.
Season 2025 Trials are by invitation only.
